Acidosis is a multi-factorial disease caused by mismanagement of carbohydrates and starches entering the digestive system. Simply put, the rapid breakdown (fermentation) of carbohydrate nutrients in large amounts overpowers the rumen’s ability to process the by-products at a normal rate.
