E. Coli and other bacteria and viruses are an ever present threat to sows and piglets in most farming situations. By using Karbo Flour in the sows ration and providing Karbo Flour to the piglets free choice, the severity of the infection can be held to a manageable level.
Karbo Flour will deter the colonization of E. Coli and thereby aid in reducing pathologic numbers in the gut.
Two weeks prior to farrowing add 1/4 oz of Karbo Flour to the complete ration AM & PM. Continue this regiment for at least two weeks or longer following farrowing.
To give the piglets added protection, provide them with 1/4 oz. Karbo Flour daily in a small amount of feed, soil, or directly on the concrete where the sow cannot reach it and consume it. Continue this until weaning.
After weaning, Karbo Flour will aid in controlling scours during the growing period. 1/4 oz per day orally will be adequate for 400 lbs of young growers. In stressful situations 1/2 oz per 400 lbs body weight of growers is desirable.
